Three Phase In Single Phase Out

Three Phase In Single Phase Out

A Three Phase In, Single Phase Out UPS (often written as a 3:1 UPS) is a specialized power backup system designed to balance heavy electrical loads.

Here is what that means in practice:

  • Three Phase In (Input): It draws power from a 3-phase electrical grid (typically 400V–415V). This allows the UPS to pull a massive amount of power without overloading a single circuit, distributing the current draw evenly across three separate power lines.

  • Single Phase Out (Output): It takes that heavy-duty input, runs it through an inverter, and outputs standard single-phase power (usually 230V in India).
